Lisa joined a group of friends and fellow fundraisers for a Race For Life event on Saturday 15th June at Gloucester Park in Basildon, Essex. This was the Pretty Muddy 5k.

Lisa said – ‘Liked the run, loved the fundraising, tried to avoid the mud!’

Pretty Muddy is a 5k race with a number of obstacles covered in mud. Over 10 million people have taken part in the Race For Life series of events, with almost £1 billion raised over thirty years. Revellers of all ages took part in the day with the rain doing little to deter their spirit.

Every year, around 35,500 people are diagnosed with cancer in the East of England and one in two people in the UK born after 1960 will get cancer in their lifetime.

Money raised will help scientists find new ways to prevent, diagnose and treat cancer.

Well done to Lisa and her teammates!
